about the artisan and her jewelry Michele Hilley is a Boston-based artisan jeweler, who draws inspiration from vibrant colors and attractive, simple, sometimes trendy, and classic designs. Michele began designing jewelry approximately five years ago in addition to being a full-time speech-language pathologist. Since that time, she has gained experience in wire-wrapping, weaving, and other more complex techniques. She has taught jewelry making classes to both adults and teenagers. She has also sold one-of-a-kind pieces in stores in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, New York City, New Jersey, and Austin, Texas, and on her website at www.michelehilley.com, as well as at juried art and craft fairs throughout Massachusetts. All of her jewelry is carefully crafted and handmade. No two pieces are exactly alike. A number of her distinctive items feature exquisite works of glass art made by local New England craftspeople and artisans from various parts of the United States. Every single necklace and bracelet is strung on fine beading wire with sterling silver clasps and crimp beads. In addition, all pierced earrings are designed with sterling silver findings. Each piece is created with select materials, including glass, semi-precious stones, Swarovski crystals, wood, shells, and freshwater pearls. You are invited to view and enjoy this one-of-a-kind collection. |
